A pencil to sketch the ghost outline under the mat or acetate before pouring
Step by Step
Draw ghost shapes on a piece of paper: a dome head, gentle body taper and wavy hem. Slide the paper under the silicone mat so the drawing shows through as a guide.
Mix the PVA glue, white acrylic paint and glitter together until fully combined. The mixture will be white and slightly opalescent.
Pour the glue mixture slowly over the ghost outline on the mat, following the pencil lines visible through. The pour should be about 4-5 mm deep. Tap the mat gently to level out any ridges or bubbles. If the glue runs outside the line, pull it back with the tip of a toothpick before it sets.
Leave completely undisturbed for 48 hours. The cling must be dry all the way through before you attempt to peel it: check the edges first, and if they are still white rather than translucent, wait another 12 hours. Fully cured clings peel easily and feel flexible like a rubber sheet.
Use the size-0 brush and black acrylic to paint two small oval eyes on the dried cling's face. Let the black dry for 15 minutes before pressing the cling onto glass.
Good to Know
Ages 7+ for pouring; younger children watch and help arrange the finished clings.
