Ghost Origami

You'll Need

  • 1 square of white paper per ghost, 15 x 15 cm, 80-90 gsm
  • Black fine-tip marker

Step by Step

  • Lay the paper white side up. Fold the top edge down to meet the bottom edge (a horizontal fold). Crease firmly and unfold. You now have a centre horizontal crease.
  • Fold the top right corner diagonally down to touch the centre crease, about two-thirds of the way along its length. Repeat on the top left corner. These two folds form the ghost's rounded head shape: the top edge now looks like a soft dome rather than a straight line.
  • Fold the bottom corners up slightly on each side (about 1 cm) to create small pointed feet. These allow the ghost to stand on its own.
  • Turn the paper over. The ghost's front is now facing you. Use the black marker to draw two oval eyes in the upper centre of the dome and a small open oval mouth below.
  • Stand the ghost by gently curving the left and right sides of the body inward very slightly, which widens the base and adds stability. Adjust until it stands without falling.

Good to Know

Ages 7+ for the folding; younger children can decorate with marker.
