Stem (dark brown yarn): chain 4. Starting in the 2nd chain from hook, sc, sc, sl st. Fasten off with a long tail. Roll the little strip between your fingers to round it slightly.
Sew the cap to the top of the nut body using the long tail, working around the edge so the join is hidden inside the cap rim. Sew the stem to the centre top of the cap.
Embroider a small curved smile with black embroidery floss and add tiny pink felt circles or yarn knots for blush. Thread the keychain ring through the stem before sewing it closed so the ring is anchored.
