Corked Bottle Set

You'll Need

  • 4 to 6 clear glass jars with cork stoppers, in varied sizes
  • Dried moss, seed pods, whole spices, or dried botanicals (one type per jar)
  • 6 kraft labels, approximately 5 x 3 cm
  • 1 m natural twine
  • A fine-tip pen for lettering

Step by Step

  • Fill each jar with a single material, packed loosely enough to see through the glass but densely enough to look intentional. Cork each jar. The materials should sit just below the shoulder of the jar, not crammed to the brim.
  • Letter each label with the contents in block capitals: "DRIED MOSS", "STAR ANISE", "NIGELLA SEED". Keep the lettering centred and the words on a single baseline. If your lettering is uncertain, use a light pencil guideline first, then ink over it and erase the pencil once dry.
  • Cut a 15 cm length of twine per jar. Tie the label to the twine and then tie the twine around the neck of the jar with a simple knot, trimming any excess. The label should hang at the front and sit flat, not spin around the neck.
