Coffee Filter Leaf

You'll Need

  • 1 white flat-bottom coffee filter per child
  • Washable markers in red, orange, yellow and brown
  • Water spray bottle
  • Scrap paper to protect the table
  • Safety scissors

Step by Step

  • Flatten the coffee filter on scrap paper and colour it densely with markers in autumn shades, overlapping colours at the edges and covering at least eighty percent of the surface.
  • Mist with two or three sprays of water from twenty centimetres away. Watch the colours blend, then leave completely flat to dry for twenty minutes.
  • Cut a leaf shape from the stiffened filter and tape it to a window to catch the light.
