Cardboard Tube Owl

You'll Need

  • 1 cardboard toilet-roll tube per child
  • Brown paint, 1 tablespoon per tube
  • White and black scrap paper for eyes
  • Orange scrap paper for beak
  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 paintbrush

Step by Step

  • Paint the tube all over with brown paint and stand it upright to dry for twenty minutes until completely dry to the touch.
  • Pinch both top corners of the dry tube and fold them inward and down to make two pointed ear-tufts. Press flat and add a dot of glue if they spring back.
  • Cut two four-centimetre eye circles from white paper and two smaller pupils from black paper, glue the pupils on, then glue the eyes to the front of the tube. Fold a small orange diamond in half for the beak and glue it between the eyes.
