Cardboard Box Forest

You'll Need

  • 1 shoebox or similar cardboard box, at least 25 cm long
  • Green and brown paper for trees and floor lining
  • 1 glue stick
  • Safety scissors
  • Toy animals from around the house

Step by Step

  • Lay the box on its side with the open face forward. Cut tree shapes from green and brown paper: trunk plus treetop, roughly eight centimetres tall. Fold a one-centimetre tab at the base of each tree.
  • Glue the tabs to the inside base of the box so the trees stand upright. Cut a paper rectangle to line the floor and glue it flat.
  • Scatter paper leaves on the floor, add toy animals from around the house, and play.
