Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Makes 24 punch servings

Ingredients

  • 1 clean rubber or latex glove food-safe, unwashed with detergent
  • Red food colouring a few drops, added to the water inside the glove
  • 1.5 litres 1.5 qt cranberry juice cocktail, chilled
  • 1 litre 1 qt ginger ale or lemon-lime sparkling water, chilled
  • 480 ml 2 cups orange juice, chilled
  • 240 ml 1 cup pineapple juice, chilled
  • Orange slices fresh cranberries and black cherry garnishes for the bowl
  • Large punch bowl

Instructions

  • The night before: fill the rubber glove with cold water and add a few drops of red food colouring. Tie the wrist end tightly with a rubber band so no water leaks. Lay it flat on a small tray and freeze overnight until completely solid.
  • When ready to serve, fill the punch bowl with the cranberry juice, orange juice and pineapple juice. Stir to combine.
  • Pour in the chilled ginger ale or sparkling water just before guests arrive so the carbonation stays lively.
  • Peel the rubber glove away from the frozen hand. The ice will have taken the shape of the glove fingers.
  • Lower the ice hand into the punch bowl so it floats in the centre.
  • Float orange slices and fresh cranberries around the ice hand and drop in a few black cherries.
  • Serve immediately with a ladle, and replenish ginger ale as the punch is served to keep the fizz going.
