White Wine and Elderflower Spritz
Ingredients
- Ice
- 3 oz chilled dry white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc
- 1 oz elderflower liqueur
- 2 oz chilled soda water
- 1 mint sprig and 1 thin lemon wheel for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a tall wine glass three-quarters full with ice cubes.
- Pour 3 oz chilled dry white wine over the ice.
- Add 1 oz elderflower liqueur and stir once to blend the two.
- Top with 2 oz chilled soda water, pouring gently so the fizz stays active near the surface.
- Float a mint sprig and a thin lemon wheel on top and serve right away, before the ice has a chance to dull the floral note.
Good to Know
Open the wine ahead of time and keep it chilled, not poured; the elderflower liqueur and soda still go in glass by glass to keep every pour fresh.
