Vampire Teeth Apple and Peanut Butter Board

Prep Time 20 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Makes 1 board, serves 8 to 10

Ingredients

  • 4 large red apples each cut into 8 wedges and any browning surface rubbed with a cut lemon
  • 180 g smooth peanut butter or sunflower seed butter for nut-free
  • 80 g miniature marshmallows
  • 100 g celery cut into 8 cm sticks
  • 100 g pretzel rods
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice for brushing apple surfaces

Instructions

  • Brush cut apple surfaces lightly with lemon juice to slow browning.
  • Spread about 1 teaspoon of peanut butter along the straight-cut edge of one apple wedge.
  • Press 4 to 5 miniature marshmallows into the peanut butter in a row, spacing them to look like teeth.
  • Top with a second apple wedge, pressing gently so the peanut butter acts as glue and the marshmallows are visible between the two slices.
  • Repeat with remaining apple wedges to make 12 to 16 vampire teeth sets.
  • Arrange the finished teeth on a large board, standing them on their curved side so the marshmallows are visible.
  • Surround with celery sticks, pretzel rods and a small bowl of extra peanut butter for dipping.
  • Serve within 1 hour to keep the apple slices fresh.
