The Zero-Proof Negroni

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Makes 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 1 oz non-alcoholic gin alternative
  • 1 oz non-alcoholic sweet vermouth alternative
  • 1 oz non-alcoholic bitter aperitif Campari-style
  • 1 large ice cube
  • 1 strip orange peel for garnish

Instructions

  • Place one large ice cube in a rocks glass.
  • Pour the non-alcoholic gin alternative, the sweet vermouth alternative, and the bitter aperitif over the ice in equal one-ounce pours.
  • Stir the drink slowly with a bar spoon for 20 seconds, until the outside of the glass turns cold and slightly frosted.
  • Cut a two-inch strip of orange peel with a vegetable peeler, avoiding the white pith.
  • Hold the peel over the glass, orange side down, and pinch it to release a fine mist of citrus oil across the surface.
  • Rub the peel around the rim once, then drop it in.

Good to Know

Keep the ratio even, one ounce of each, and the drink reads as bitter and grown-up rather than sweet.
