Fill the bag with sweets first and fold the top down twice to close it. The filling keeps the bag rigid while you wrap, which makes the whole process much easier.
Start at the base of the bag. Apply a thin line of glue along the back lower edge and press the start of the crepe strip to it. Let it tack for thirty seconds.
Wind the crepe strip around the bag in overlapping diagonal strips, applying a dot of glue every two or three wraps to anchor it. Leave two small gaps near the upper third of the bag front for the eyes. The wrapping does not need to be neat: slight overlaps and slight angles look more mummy-like than perfectly even rows.
When the crepe reaches the top, tuck the end behind a previous layer and secure with a dot of glue. Let the glue set for ten minutes before handling.
Glue the two googly eyes into the gaps you left. If the eyes are larger than the gap, simply glue them on top of a layer of crepe. Let dry.
Draw a small zigzag mouth below the eyes with the black marker for extra character, or leave the face minimal for a more eerie look.
