Homemade Chex Mix

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 1 hour
Total Time 1 hour 30 minutes
Makes 20 servings

Ingredients

  • 9 cups Chex cereal corn, rice and wheat mixed
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 2 cups mixed nuts
  • 6 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  • In the largest bowl available, combine the Chex cereal, pretzel sticks and mixed nuts.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder and seasoned salt.
  • Pour the butter mixture slowly over the cereal mix, tossing gently as you go so every piece gets coated without crushing the cereal.
  • Spread the mixture in a single layer across two large rimmed sheet pans.
  • Bake for 1 hour, stirring gently every 15 minutes, until the mix turns a light golden color and smells toasted rather than raw.
  • Remove from the oven and spread the mix out on paper towels or a clean sheet pan to cool completely, about 20 minutes.
  • Store in an airtight container or serve right away in large bowls.

Good to Know

Make this up to two weeks ahead; it keeps its crunch in a sealed container far longer than anything with dip on the table.
