Pour a shallow puddle of white paint onto a plate or tray. Press the child's hand in, palm-down, fingers together, coating the whole surface evenly.

Place the hand onto the black card with the fingers pointing downward, press gently across the whole hand, then lift straight up without smearing. The ghost head is the heel of the palm; the fingers are the trailing wisp at the bottom.

Wipe the hand clean immediately with the damp cloth. Set the card aside to dry for at least 20 minutes. Once fully dry, add two small dots or circles near the top of the palm for eyes using a fine black marker or a dot of black paint on a cotton bud.
