72 Would You Rather Questions for Younger Children

These kids would you rather questions are built for the four-to-seven crowd: short, picture-friendly pairs where both options sound genuinely tempting, so every child in the room has a fast, confident answer. No reading needed, no scary scenarios, and no option a small child will stare at blankly because she has never heard of it. Six rounds, twelve questions each, seventy-two prompts in total, and a set of printable cards for every round so you can run the whole game without looking at your phone.

How to Play

Read each question out loud, slowly and clearly, so every child hears both options. Ask the kids to show their answer by jumping to one side of the room, holding up a finger for option one or two, or simply calling out their choice. No wrong answers, no keeping score: the fun is hearing how the room splits. Work through one round at a time, twelve questions per round, and use the printable card sheets if you want a helper to read the questions while you keep an eye on the group. The rounds get progressively sillier, so save Round Six for when energy is high and you want a big laugh before winding down.

How to Keep It Moving and When to Stop

The biggest energy dip in any kids game comes from waiting. Keep the pace up by reading each question briskly, calling out the result as soon as most children have answered, and moving straight to the next one without commentary. If two children cannot agree, do not referee: just call it a tie and move on.

Watch for signs that the group is done before the questions are. Restlessness, side conversations and drifting attention all mean it is time to stop, even if you are only halfway through a round. Ending on a high leaves children wanting more, which is exactly the right note. If the group is still fully engaged, the 120 Would You Rather Questions for Kids list gives you a much larger bank to pull from without repeating anything here.

For mixed-age groups where older children are in the room, a handful of questions from the 120 Would You Rather Questions for Endless Fun set can slot in at the end of Round Six without slowing down the younger children who just finished. Print the card sheets, clip them onto a binder ring so they stay in round order, and hand them to a confident older child or a second grown-up to read aloud while you manage the room.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you play Would You Rather with young children?

Read each question aloud slowly so every child hears both options clearly. Ask them to show their answer by jumping to one side of the room, holding up one or two fingers, or calling out their choice. No score-keeping and no wrong answers: the fun is seeing which option wins the room.

What age are these Would You Rather questions for?

The questions here are written for four-to-seven-year-olds. Every option uses something a child that age already knows, nothing frightening, and nothing that requires reading. Older children in the room can join in without any changes to the questions.

How many players do you need?

Would You Rather works with as few as two players and scales easily to a full classroom or party room. The larger the group, the more visible the room split and the more the children enjoy arguing their case.

How do you print and use the card sheets?

Download the sheet, print on standard white cardstock, and cut along the dashed lines. Laminating the cards makes them reusable. Thread a binder ring through one corner of each set to keep a round together. Hand one round’s cards to a helper or an older child to read aloud while you manage the group.

Can you use these questions without printing anything?

Absolutely. The numbered lists in each section are designed to be read straight from a phone or tablet. Print the cards when you want a helper to run a round or when you need something tangible to hand out at a party table.

How long does one full game take?

At a relaxed pace, one round of twelve questions takes about five to eight minutes. All six rounds together run thirty to forty-five minutes. Stopping after three or four rounds is perfectly normal, especially with the youngest children: end while the room is still engaged rather than waiting for attention to drift.
