72 Truth or Dare Questions for a Phone Call With No Camera

Truth or dare questions over call work because the phone strips everything back to voice, nerve, and honesty. No camera, no costume, no living room required. Pick it up with a close friend, a long-distance partner, or anyone brave enough to answer.

How to Play

Two players take turns. On your turn, say ‘truth or dare’ and let the other person choose. Read the question or dare from whichever round you are currently on, then move to the next card. Work through Round One before opening Round Two, and keep going until you reach Round Six or one of you taps out. Every dare in this list is something the other person can hear through the phone: a sound, a description, a voice performance, or a confession spoken aloud. Nothing requires a camera, a prop, or leaving the room. Print the card sheets, cut them apart, and stack each round face-down so you draw blind.

Round Five: Sing, Read or Say It

Round Six: The Last Question

The final round asks the questions both people have been building toward: honest, direct, and worth answering properly.

  4. What do you think is the biggest difference between who you are now and who you thought you would be?
  5. Name the one person who changed the direction of your life and explain how in under a minute.

  8. What is a question you have always wanted someone to ask you but no one ever has?
  9. What do you think the other person on this call is afraid of that they have not said out loud yet?
  10. What would change in your life if you stopped caring what other people thought for one full year?
  11. What is the most honest thing you have said tonight, and was it hard to say?

When to Stop and How to End the Game Well

Either person can stop at any time, no explanation needed. That is the only rule that never changes regardless of the round. If someone passes on a question, the other person draws the next card without comment, and the game moves forward.

The best way to end a round of truth or dare questions over call is deliberately, not because the call drops. Finish a full round, agree you are done, and then stay on the line for a few minutes of ordinary conversation. That cool-down matters. The last round asks hard questions, and hanging up immediately after one of them can leave the wrong feeling behind.

If the conversation got heavier than expected, name it: ‘that got real’ covers it. You do not need to resolve everything that came up. Some of the best outcomes from a game like this are the conversations that keep going after the cards run out. Save those for another call, and the next one will be easier to start.

For more games that work just as well without a big group in one room, the 150 Truth or Dare Questions for a Fun Night with Anyone list has plenty to carry you through. And if the other person on your call is a couple, 120 Flirty Truth or Dare Questions for Couples picks up exactly where Round Six leaves off.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people do you need for truth or dare questions over call?

Two is the sweet spot. The prompts are written as a conversation between one caller and one other person. Three players can join the same call and take turns, but the questions work best as a back-and-forth between two voices.

Do the dares actually work with no camera?

Yes, every dare in Round Three and Round Five produces something the other person hears directly through the phone: a voice, a sound, a reading, or a performance. Nothing requires showing anything on screen.

Is this game suitable for any age?

The prompts are written for adults. Teens looking for a call-friendly version should check a list built specifically for that age group, as some of the Admissions round questions deal with adult experiences and self-reflection.

How do I print and use the card sheets?

Download the card sheet images, print on white cardstock, cut along the dashed lines, and stack each round face-down. Draw one card per turn. A laminator and a small binder ring keep the sets tidy if you plan to reuse them.

What happens if someone does not want to answer a question?

They pass. The other person draws the next card and the game moves on. No explanation is required and no penalty applies. That rule holds for every round, including the last one.

Can this work over a video call with the camera off?

Absolutely. The prompts were designed for voice only, so turning the camera off for a video call gives the same experience. Some players find it easier to be honest when they cannot be watched.
